Thank you for your interest in these exciting roles at Rushmoor Borough Council.
It’s a complex time for local government, as we consider how we can best support our local community and economy in adapting to the post-Covid environment, and each of these roles will play an active part in this work. Our Assistant Chief Executive will lead on the council’s approach to policy and strategy development, risk and emergency planning and will lead on the Covid 19 recovery work. The Economy and Growth Manager will play a direct role in developing and implementing initiatives to support growth in our local economy, establish recovery plans for our town centres, and ensure that the skills profile of our local population is aligned to the needs of key employers in our area. Having successfully delivered the £32m Farnborough International Exhibition and Conference Centre on the Farnborough Airfield site that will attract visitors from around the world to the biennial airshow, the council already has a proven track record in translating ambitious plans into successful outcomes.
We are shaping an organisation that is not bound by process or bureaucracy, where colleagues are encouraged to innovate and take decisions. You can expect to work on a varied portfolio of work and you will enjoy considerable scope to stretch yourself and develop your expertise in areas outside of your own professional specialism. Be assured that these will be challenging and demanding positions, but you will be well-supported by Members and the Senior Team, and your success will only be limited by your own ambition.
Working with like-minded people, in a modern and dynamic environment, we have much to offer you and your career ambition. So come and join us, and play your part in improving the lives of the residents of Rushmoor.
The Council has engaged Solace in Business to support us in making these important appointments and I encourage you to contact Steve Guest, Head of Executive Resourcing, on 020 7976 3311 to discuss the roles in more detail.
